Rasitha Sanjeewa

Rasitha Sanjeewa (b. 1972, Ambalangoda, Sri Lanka; based in Grand Cayman) is a contemporary artist whose works pulse with raw emotion, instinct, and unspoken dialogues. His practice, often described as “The Wild Line,” is a radical departure from conventional art-making - a journey guided not by academic tradition but by an inner voice that responds directly to human feeling and lived experience.

Rasitha’s work first gained international recognition when it was featured in the 2003 edition of Encyclopedia Britannica. Over the years, his paintings have been exhibited in Sri Lanka and abroad, admired for their intensity and their fearless embrace of the subconscious. His recent series, Homecoming of the Wild Line, deepens this exploration, reflecting the timeless dialogue between instinct and identity.

Working primarily in mixed media and acrylic, Rasitha explores primal emotions - conflict, silence, memory, and desire - through bold, expressive gestures. Each piece becomes both a personal confession and a universal conversation, inviting viewers into a space where the line itself speaks.
