Janis Bär is a German-born artist, now based in Mallorca, whose work explores emotional depth and human presence through realistic graphite and charcoal drawings.
Growing up in Berlin, she discovered her passion for drawing at a very young age and developed a highly refined visual language over the years. Her work is characterized by expressive realism, technical precision, and a delicate interplay of light and shadow.
Inspired by artists such as Armin Mersmann and Dirk Dzimirsky, Janis developed a style that combines clarity with softness – always rooted in the emotional world behind the portrait.
Each piece invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and connect – beyond the surface, into something deeper and more vulnerable.
“I draw because I feel. My work is an attempt to hold moments that otherwise slip through – fragile emotions, inner silence, hidden stories.”
Autodidact – developed through years of intensive self-study and practice. Inspired by realism and master artists such as Armin Mersmann, Janis Bär refined her artistic voice independently, outside of formal art institutions.
