Art Lasovsky

I am living in the charming place above the Polar Circle, there we do not have a sunlight during Winter and having 24 hours of sunlight during Summer, it is very amazing place to live for photographer, because you beginning to look at light differently, it become valuable to you. It is a wonderful feeling when you see the first rays of Sun after the long period without it. I love that place where I’m living, it’s give me an inspiration in my work. It is the reason that I am identifying myself as a Photographer from the North.

The main direction of my commercial work is automotive photography, where I am trying to show excellence of lines and form, as well as a mastery of designer and engineering ideas. It is not about only documenting, but about the personal feeling about car.

Another direction is grow up from the first one. Traveling with my wife (Tatiana Lasovsky) across the North by a car. Where I shoot portraits, architecture and landscapes. We have a dedicated project for our journeys called “Around Barents” () where we publish not only photographs but the stories and our thoughts about the living in the North.
