David Tolley

Born 1972 In Birkenhead England.

In 2007 I had my first one man show in Dubai! I sold more work in my first 12 days than the Gallery had sold in its first six months of opening. It was here that Damian Calderbank helped arrange the show, and soon after offered to manage me. Management has transported my ambitions of a successful local artist into the possible realms of International recognition.


A second show in Dubai followed shortly: Rhapsody in Black and White. My work was professionally photographed and the images emailed to Dubai, taking away the added pressure of large shipping costs. I made three guest spots on Dubai Television and radio where the host John Deykin commissioned me for his portrait. It was then that my manager instigated a new opportunity! A selection of my work was going to be auctioned off at The Lord Taverner's Charity Trust Jan 08! The host was no other than Mr Chris Tarrant. On the night my work stole the show culminating in purchases of charcoal pieces made by Mr Jim Davidson; Mike Gatting and the man himself who 'had to phone a friend'
