I am a self-taught artist. By day I am a diamond consultant and by night I'm an artist moved and inspired by the music I listen to while I paint or by beautiful places around the world that I've been.
Most of my paintings are named after the songs they were "conceived" by. During my creative process, I pop my earbuds in, either close my eyes or wear a blindfold and move my brush into the colors I've selected (oftentimes just squeezed onto a paper plate!) and let the music and words move my brushstrokes on the canvas. After a few movements, I open my eyes or remove the blindfold and make sense of the random and chaotic colors and shapes/lines on the canvas.
I then turn the initial strokes of inspiration into a cohesive but still mixed image.
This process can be challenging, but to me it is rewarding since I am surprised myself by the end result.
My other paintings are inspired by places I've visited. I believe that the world should be explored - it makes you humble and not just appreciative but grateful. When I personally have the privilege of exploring a new place, an image, mood, or figure of that place remains with me. I try replicating these memories nostalgically through my art.
I also enjoy sharin...
