Astra Von Ruin

Astra Von Ruin is a conceptual painter exploring the quiet violence of memory, rupture, and emotional residue.
Her work is built from plaster, acrylic, and physical abrasion — each piece functioning as a forensic artifact rather than a painting. Astra describes her process as “translating the body’s unspoken aftermath.”

Her canvases are raw, textured, and deliberately uncomfortable. They do not seek beauty — they document what beauty leaves behind.

Astra works between Monaco and Florence , creating limited one-of-one pieces rooted in collapse, tenderness, and the anatomy of unprocessed emotion.

Her methodology emerged through years of studying the physical behaviour of memory, and emotional residue.
