My Goal: Make great art and hopefully find my identity in the process.
I was born in Ethiopia and continued to live in Egypt, Malawi, Mozambique, and South Africa before graduating from university in Rhode Island. Those 4 college years in the U.S. was a huge transition from what used to be daily life in Africa. I began compulsively drawing, in and out of classes. Expressed through my subconscious, a recollection of experiences, emotions, and energy brought to life a new visual language. Through marks and symbols, I created images evocative of concepts and aphorisms.
