Yulia Babulina

I am an artist interested in drawing from nature in an attempt to reflect life

I was born in 2000 in Kaluga, Russia.
From the age of 14 I studied at an art studio in the Moscow region.
In 2018 I entered the Stroganov Moscow State Academy of Arts and Industry, Faculty of Graphics.
Now I'm 4th year student of Academy.

I often draw from nature, because I like to capture moments from life in my works.
I do my works in a realistic style. I find the works of the old classical school very strong and expressive. Academism for me is not a routine, but rather an interesting investigation in an attempt to understand nature.
I do oil paintings, watercolors and tempera, but I like to try different techniques. My last works are related to book and zine illustration.

4th year student of Moscow State Stroganov Academy of Industrial and Applied Arts (2018-2023)

In addition to studying at the Academy, I studied in different studios in Moscow and St. Petersburg to improve my skills and learn different techniques.
