Badria Shamsi

Badria Shamsi is an expressionist artist from UAE, she was born in 1971, in Abu Dhabi where she lived her earlier life and then moved to Dubai.
“I am a self-taught artist who is greedy to learn, aiming to the best I could achieve; I work by combining wet and dry mixed-media techniques.
“I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers” Claude Monet, this quote is the perfect reason why I like choosing subjects that promotes appreciation for nature; plants, botanical, landscapes and seascapes. I use colors to express my emotions while the movement of strokes expresses the joy and excitement I feel while painting. By playing with my imagination and colors I deliver a translation of words I am trying to say and feelings I am trying to express”.
I express my ideas without the limits of the classical painting, for I always see art as the beauty in its essential and simplest forms.
