Using sustainable and eco-friendly materials is very important to me; thus, since I work mainly in wood, that means trees downed by disease or storms. I love the way half-decayed wood is beautiful under the exterior rot, and the patterns that stress and age leave in the grain. I work with the wood, not against it. It's a partnership that works well - I do what the wood wants, and it looks the way it is supposed to look. The personality of the wood is condensed and startling, and I try my best to bring that to light. My work is both primitive and sophisticated. It's dichotomous, as are we all inside.

Self taught and intuitive
