Barbara Cartier

I am from Buenos Aires, Argentina (b.1981). I currently work and live in Panama. Since then, I have been working on sculptural forms influenced by the mirrored buildings and flow of brand new cars along the coast line avenue in Panama City as well as the vivid carnival culture. So the materials I've been working with in Panama have to do with this contrasting environment. Polyurethane, fiberglass, automotive paint, vinyls, fake finishes are some of the mediums I merge in my work to create sculptures, paintings, collages and installations to approach the connivance of the different socio-cultural identities from an "organic" point of view.
