Beata Vavrova

Bea was born in Bratislava, Slovakia where she studied graphic design at School of Animation and continued her education by receiving Magister degree in marketing communications and mass media.

After over a decade long break from creating art she came back to it slowly over the past seven years and fully immersed herself in painting in the last five years.

Bea uses many different techniques and mixed media in her expression. She dabbles in tapestry, print making, book binding, paper making and painting. In many of her works at least two of these meet to create an unexpected experience.

Most of her works focuses on relations. Exploring how the same patterns and colors appear different depending on their surroundings. Much like the human experience.

“ I am a color seeker, I always loved combining unexpected patterns, I love to create amusing pieces that make you look twice. Creating art can be very vulnerable place to exist. You are putting your soul into making something that makes complete sense to you and the anticipation of reaction from others is often paralyzing. I create for myself, I do what is driving me.
