Béla Simó studied sculpture as an apprentice with Professor Joseph Elter, in Traunstein, Austria, after training in industrial millwright and in repair of precision instruments in Romania.
Alongside master Elter, he learned to sculpt monumental pieces of stone and wood. For more than 35 years now, he has devoted himself to sculpture. What sets his pieces apart, however, is that he combines his learning of sculpture, as well as his artistic knowledge with the expertise he acquired during his technical training.
Béla Simó has participated in over a hundred exhibitions, both in group and solo. His pieces are in private or permanent collections in Austria, in Romania, in Hungary, in Australia, in the United States and all over Canada. He also has several works of public art to his credit.
His studio is located in Val-des-Monts (Quebec, Canada) at 1375, route du Carrefour. He can be reached at 1- (819) 328-3380.
