Belinda Bussotti alias BELI is a passionate woman, engaged in environmental issues especially related to oceans and endangered species but also stimulated by the beauty of sexuality showcased in her nude creations. The ultimate aim of her art is to bring awareness and light on specific topics too often taken for granted.
Her art has evolved through the years in harmony with her sensibility and attractions. Going from drawings to contemporary painting techniques while mastering the use of oil and acrylic. Colors are the mirror of the artist’s emotions and vital energy, by all mines selected with much care. Her artistic evolution brought her to playfully use contrasts, lights and shadows’ effects of her photographs and mix them in her paintings.
She uses the art of sculpting bronze as a powerful mean to convey her messages. Leading her to create not only small and monumental size sculptures but also wearable ones with a line of bronze art jewels.
Mainly autodidact throughout her artist career; she improved her skills while attending several American art schools’ programs for drawing and painting:
1991: Corcoran Art School in Washington DC (USA)
1994: Glassel Art School in Houston Texas (USA)
1995: North Light Art School, Cincinnati (USA)
Her willingness of developing and discovering wider artistic options brought her to follow other trainings
