François Benoit-Lison

I was born in 1968 in Normandy. My father was in the French army and my mother is a painter. Since primary school I always drew in class rather than listening to my teachers. I left school rather early and worked for 10 years in the civil engineering sector . At the age of 30 I realized that my life had to be dedicated to art so I stopped working. I met two artists who influenced my work : Archiguille and Giger. Since then I have made my own way trying to translate my feelings in my abstract painting (although sometimes I go back to sculpture and figurative painting).
After oil and acrylic I have found my material in tar as black is my colour and tar offers many possibilities and can be dark or colourful, smooth or thick. In no may I am trying to copy Soulages - le Maître de l'outre- noir -
I all saw work on digital creations witch as open a new way of art expression.
