I love transforming plain, hard metal - whether stainless steel, bronze, brass, copper, or steel - into beautiful and strong, lyrical and moving works of art. In the design stages, I seek to pull out from within a personal, spiritual expression; and as I work and rework the physical forms in the studio, I'm striving to create sculptures that have strength, composition, quality, craftsmanship, and depth. This combination of inward seeking and outward making, if I succeed, results in something that touches the viewer.

A lifetime of education and life experience (always being an artist is not always an easy path) beginning with an art major in college, and then a mentorship with a well-known sculptor and years of hands-on experience in the studio, and teaching bronze casting and welding at the Art Center of Minnesota. I've built numerous large-scale sculptures, as assistant, partner, and as sole creator of numerous commissioned works. Travels around the world whenever the opportunity presented itself has been a great educator and inspiration for my work.
