Tom Bories

Tom Bories was born, raised, and currently lives in Belgium.
Influenced by nature, religion, and light, he works primarily with digital medium format and analogue large format photography. His practice explores how light interacts with shadow, how place and history shape identity, the tension between myth and contemporary life, and the quiet solitude of remote landscapes.
Largely self-taught through experimenting with analogue cameras, Bories deepened his vision and technical understanding during further studies in art schools.
His exhibitions range from local art collectives and schools to larger projects, including Sauvegarde, celebrating 800 years of the Beguinage in Bruges. His work is held in private collections in Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.
Through projects such as Where Dust Lies, Tom Bories continues to merge conceptual and documentary approaches into images that invite reflection and dialogue.
