ARTIST STATEMENT
I have always addressed the question of relevancy within my painting. It’s an issue that occupies my
thinking each time I begin a new piece. Do I achieve and maintain what is deemed to have them
taken seriously? Will anything I paint be good enough to have the honour of standing along side
works of art that build our new mythologies? It’s a difficult set of parameters to work within, but
ones worth creating for.
Patricia has worked and experimented within a myriad of art forms including
graphic design, furniture design, sculpture, ceramics, illustration & painting
HB Beal Technical School of the Arts, London Ontario
Honours graduate, Ontario College of Art and Design, Toronto Canada;
Fine Art Studies in Florence, Italy.
Six international artists will be exhibiting in a group show, individually created pieces
of art dealing specifically with, and incorporating paper.
This exhibition explores the social, historical and political importance of paper, its
value of permanence and vulnerability throughout mankind’s deep-rooted need to
make our mark.
I have chosen to work with letters of love, composed over centuries.
The purpose of a love letter has always remained the same in its function of expressing and sharing desire.
Written by hand on paper, deeply felt emotions through words, leave a physical
imprint, our DNA, the affirmation of our existence
and our uniquely human, never ending capacity to love.
New dates and venue have yet to be determined due to Covid19.
