Brian Connolly

My Abstract Expressionist works of art provide rich bursts of color on canvas that reflect a personal form of escapism and my thoughts on the sometimes organized chaos of life. Things might not always make sense at the time, but when one is blessed with time and perspective, a poetic truth and beauty emerges. As a self-taught artist, I attribute my life's experiences and compassion for the human condition to be not only my guiding lights but also my primary inspiration. Everyone has their own story to tell, whether you are rich or poor, beautiful or ordinary. They all matter and are of equal importance to me.

Artists that have inspired me over the years are Vincent Van Gogh, Georgia O'Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, Keith Haring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Yayoi Kusama. Their artwork, but more importantly, their personal stories are my greatest inspiration.
