Carole Finn Osa

Living in the woods at the edge of a lake surrounded by nature for most of my life has imbued in me a love of deep love of this pristine world and filled me with a need to protect it. I am drawn to produce works that bespeak the force, motion and awesome beauty of this natural world and the simple creatures that inhabit it.
To capture the vision and the emotion of a moment in nature I take many pictures as photo documentation of the experience. In my studio, using these multiple digital images as my source, I paint my personal interpretation onto large canvases. Through vigorous brush strokes, bold colour with hints of the under-painting, impressionistic shapes and strong contrasts I tell the story of the landscape. My aim is to offer a compelling intersection between the literal vision and the landscape of the heart.
My works are in private and corporate collections in Canada, England, Germany and France.

1960: Became a teacher, won scholarship to attend OCAD for four summers Courses of 8 weeks to
become Teacher Art Specialist.
