How the paint gets put on the canvas is not my focus but rather what I feel when painting or when my views absorb the painting. My abstract and energetic brush work allows a rhythmic release and freedom that are often halted by the desire to be perfect.
I use my art to show the freedom in my imperfections, inviting viewers to do the same. Abstract expressionism allows a fluid and spontaneous creativity that is inspired by de Kooning, Pollock, and Cecile
Teaching myself how to paint has given me an outlet for seeking perfection, especially as a woman. The mixed media layers, visible grit, texture, and a vivid sense of wonder invite a freedom of exploration.

Viewers commonly ask, “Why art? How did you get into painting?" I answer, “Why not?” Through my art, I have found answers to the questions: "How do I make the world a brighter place? How do I best service myself? The world?” Art allows the least judgmental forum of expression through real emotions, truth, and generational flaws; with each piece, my truest voice is heard.
My work is created from a standpoint of all emotions and the inner life: inspiration, loss, rebirth, alone time, overly exuded fear, hope, excitement, and even the mundane thoughts of a given moment. My...
