A SEARCH FOR LIGHT
The light touches the dark. The dark reaches for the light. In between the dark and the light there is a glow.
Carina Aerden investigates how far she can go in reducing the light, just to achieve an even stronger radiation. The less light, the more powerful the expression. As a beam, a bright spot, a surface.
Underneath the dark layers in Aerden`s work there is a lot of color. Through these layers you`ll discover an accumulation of events, of research, of colors and lines, of matter. They`re not always visible, but one can sense their necessity.
Carina Aerden is an Antwerp based artist. She studied painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp.
