Carles was born in 1965 in Manresa Catalonia, Spain. After his experience in restoration of old works of art, he sells his artworks internationally until today.
1986-1991
studies in fine arts at the central university of Barcelona among others, his teachers were prof. Joan Hernández Pijuan and prof. Xavier Grau.
1991-1996
conservation and restoration of art at the official restoration center of the Catalonia government.
1992-1994
doctorate studies in fine arts and art history at the university of Barcelona UB.
1992-1995
scholarship in research and fieldwork at the Catalan centre of conservation and restoration.
2001
ph.d. summa cum laude in fine arts at the university of Barcelona UB.
During his studies and his work in restoration of art, Carles castel has developed his painting career in parallel.

Carles castel lived and painted in London.
from 2002-2004
the artist painted and studied art in Osaka, Japan.
Parallel he took lessons in the Tea Ceremony of the famous Nakata-San Cha-no-you for one year (2003) in Fushimi-ku, Kyoto.
