Carrie Mapes

I live in Los Angeles with my husband, three dogs, and two empty bedrooms ready for kids to come back from college. I grew up in a beach community in Southern California and spend a lot of time at the beach in Santa Monica. I love to play paddle tennis and spend time in my art studio.

I attended UCLA where I earned my BA in History and my MEd. I loved teaching elementary school and always looked for opportunities to be creative in my classroom. I taught myself to watercolor in my early 20's and continued to paint until I had my children and became busy with other things. I eventually sought formal art instruction and have been learning for the last 10 years.
