Catherine Plante

Living in rural Upton, located in Québec, Canada, I find inspiration in my daily contact with nature. Every one of my encounters with the flora and fauna sparks my creativity. My favorite medium is alcohol ink (marker), pen and acrylic on Bristol paper because it allows me to create illustrations that are both simple in design and precise in execution in order to leave plenty of room for the subject. I also take a scientific approach towards my artwork. To capture the fragile interconnections that exist in nature, I use the knowledge I have gained through 13 years of studies and work in environmental protection. I hope to convey my love for these species and their habitat in my work so that you will be compelled to participate in its conservation.
