Born in Tyler, Texas, I am a first-generation Mexican American artist. I received my Bachelor of Fine Art in 2021 from the University of Texas at Arlington and a certificate in drafting in 2015 from Kilgore College. Originally an architecture student, I discovered that architecture was a bit limiting to me. Ever since I became an artist, I have not had any regrets.
Within my work, I create imagery that discuss experiences of the human condition. My inspiration comes from experiences of friends, family, strangers and sometimes my own. The role that I play in people’s lives seems to be that of a “walking talking diary”. They are willing to share things with me that trouble them and seek for my advice. As a result, it led me to provide a place of reflection for the viewer and to let them know that they are not alone. That the events they experience, whether glorious or tragic, are just part of life.
