Charla Maarschalk

CHARLA MAARSCHALK (b. 1976, Gander, Newfoundland)
Charla received her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Calgary in 1999 and completed a New Media program at Sheridan College in 2000. Though she has always been an artist, Maarschalk recently exited a twelve-year career as a photographer to paint Faces. Returning to her first love of painting has seen exceptional results in her first four years. She has been voted in the top ten out of 300 artists at the Lake Country Artwalk four years in a row, making #1 in 2014. For the past three years she has been the Resident Artist with Opera Kelowna creating 11 original artworks for their season shows. Maarschalk has been featured in ICON Magazine, the Kelowna Capitol News and on the cover of the Daily Courier. Charla is the wife and mother of 3 beautiful boys. She has lived and worked in Kelowna, BC since 2011.
