Charli Farquharson

I grew up by the coast in Scotland, with expansive skies and ever-changing seas on my doorstep. I am inspired by the beauty of the world, and have a passion for light, texture and nature. My love of water and the fleeting nature of light itself, pushes me to try to achieve an emotional response to seascapes, landscapes, and skyscapes. The elements which make up the world around us are what I thrive on, and the connection that these bring to us all.

As a contemporary abstract landscape painter I create atmospheric and dynamic images to make spaces memorable and exciting. My soul yearns to capture vibrancy, depth, and mood, using oil paint, acrylic paint and chalk pastels.

I am largely self taught as an artist, although I have taken part in workshops and classes, since formal art education at school.

I specialised in printed design at university, gaining a BSc in Fashion and Textile Design Management.

Throughout my retail career in London, I exhibited in both Open Studio Exhibitions and within group Art Society Exhibitions.
