Chloe Wright

I'm a 23-year-old self-taught artist born and raised in Worcester, UK. I've always done art as a hobby, for as long as I can remember. I come from a family of creative people, artists, musicians and writers. So, I've always been encouraged by my family to express myself artistically.
I took a BTEC in Art at school and had a great teacher who told me I need to stick at it and use it in my career. I didn’t listen -as many teenagers don’t- and went on to do an apprenticeship in Childcare. I only realised how badly I wanted to make something of myself as an artist when I was registering the birth of my first son, Joshua. The registrar asked me what my occupation was and without thinking about it I replied ‘I’m and Artist’, although I only had a few commissions under my belt. Since then I have really pushed myself as a portrait artist and have completed many commissions, although it's not exactly what I want to be doing I am good at it so it’s a start. Since I was commissioned to do a piece for Worcester Arts Workshop, I unintentionally got myself in to painting surrealistic art.
