Light and shadow and transparency and translucency, smoke and spark and fog and fire, the shadow of a tree through blinds, moving in patterns, repeating with the push-pull of the wind.
I'm interested in visual mysteries. I'm inspired by nature's growth and decay filtered through the physical action of working with pencil and paint. I'm fascinated by transparency, shadow, light through branches and the stains of wet leaves on the sidewalk. My goal in my art isn't to depict nature. It's to create a similar sense of peace and wonder and rightness as nature provides.
“In the end, I am not interested in that which I fully understand.”
— Nick Cave
“The answer is never the answer. What's really interesting is the mystery.”
— Ken Kesey
