Patrick King

I have been a practising artist for many years and currently run a successful l one-man gallery 'The Paintbox' in Tavistock, Devon, U.K.
Though I have tackled most media and subject-matter in my career, I now focus mainly on portraiture, the human figure, architecture and rural landscapes. At present, my preferred media are pencil, pen and watercolour. In my spare time I restore old cottages and listen to Irish music.

Born in Ireland but raised in the U.K., I graduated from Croydon College of Art in the 'sixties, completed an art teaching diploma at Birmingham University and subsquently taught in the West of England for many years
Since I left teaching, my wife and I have, for the last decade, co-operated in making our little Devon gallery a success.

Living in the West Country, I have naturally exhibited widely in exhibitions and galleries in Somerset, Devon and Cornwall. Many of my pictures will be found in private collections in the U.K. and abroad. I have also occasionally contributed illustrations and instructional articles to several regional and national magazines as well as producing artwork for a number of greetings-card publishers.
