Cicilia Ayu

Cicilia Ayu is an artist and print designer from Indonesia who translates emotions and experiences into color, texture, and form. Through acrylics, watercolor, and sketching with pen, pencil, and charcoal, she captures the essence of her surroundings and inner world. With a wandering mind, a deep heart, and limited words, she finds her truest expression through painting and creating art.

Born into a family of rice farmers in a small village in southern Java Island, Cicilia grew up with a love for drawing. However, in a family where education was a hard-earned privilege, academic achievement was the priority. She pursued a degree in fisheries and marine science technology, later building a career across various industries—from export sales to garment production and fashion. Eventually, she found her way into textile design, working for a carpet and rug production company.

Despite her full-time career, art remained her passion. She dedicated her free time to painting, sketching, and expanding her skills through online courses, learning how to transform her artwork into print designs. Now, she continues to explore acrylics, watercolor, ink, and charcoal—seeking new ways to bring her visions to life.
