Ciro Madueño, the son of Félix Madueño and Dora Velasco, was born into a large family consisting of himself and his 10 siblings. From childhood, his artistic sensibility was ignited by his mother, who, with patience and love, instilled in him an appreciation for various forms of artistic expression.
His journey into the world of art began at the Gran Unidad Escolar de San Ramón in the city of Tarma, where his calling for painting emerged during high school. There, he left a lasting mark through backdrops and murals that bear witness to his first artistic steps. Later, he enrolled at the National School of Fine Arts in Lima, where he initially combined his studies with economics under his father’s influence. However, the call of painting resonated more strongly, leading him to devote himself entirely to this form of expression.
His first foray into the arts culminated in an exhibition at the Tarma City Council at the young age of 19. However, due to circumstances beyond his control, he temporarily set aside painting to pursue industrial design, creating innovative educational toys and sleek executive furniture. His artistic quest led him to Europe, where he arrived in France in 1974.
