Claire Whitehead

I paint California landscapes and natural subjects in oils. I use a minimalist approach in form and palette with complex compositions, reducing the images to their core impression. I am interested in the parts of California that reflect the uniqueness of the land; the rolling golden hills, eucalyptus groves, clusters of scrub oaks, and winding farm roads.
