There was very little money to go around in a family with 6 children growing up in Maple Ridge BC. ; However, I do remember my mother making sure I had all the felt pens, crayons and paper any little girl could desire. There was no containing the artist in me. I painted murals on my bedroom walls and the doors. Mom let these small issues slide, as she was smart enough to figure out she should choose her battles, with such a creative little nymph like myself. Like many young women finishing college, starting a career then to marriage and raising children. My artistic endeavors ceased to exist. It is now in the last 10 years, that I have reclaimed my worthiness to hold the brush and play with paint. Instead of seeking out laundry or other tasks having no formal training, I am a self taught artist who does not like rules. I still make plenty of mistakes when mixing colors and formatting my perspectives. I draw inspiration from this quote, 'you learn from our mistakes and make changes towards greatness' In time, my art will reach out to many and provide a light to another own greatness.
