Costanza Mazzapicchio

Costanza Mazzapicchio was born in Florence, Italy in 1990. Since early age she’s strongly influenced by the Martenot School, a primary source of her artistic endeavour. She is today a teacher of the very discipline in the historic Atelier of her city.

The Martenot method, bagan in Paris in the 1930s by the mind of the psychopedagogue Ginette Martenot. It has since spread across Europe with 270 ateliers. It develops with the consideration that the artistic capacities are innate in all of us, but more often than not aren't fully smilutated or valorized.

This method aims in freeing and enhancing creativity: all signs bloom from a moviment, and all movements bloom therefore from a state of being, an emotion.

This recherche, in the works of C. M., develop thus through the composition of lines, either straight and round: they offer an harmony between fullness and emptiness; impetus and directions- often resolved in figurative creations- but nonetheless alive in the various forces of the stroke itself.
