Statement —

My work initiates from the process of change. I have always been interested in the emotions that surge in life when I deal with ‘ends’ and with ‘new beginnings’, and the struggle between these feelings - which can come from a place of love or a place of fear.

I work with fibers using techniques that generate a cultural connection with my country and my roots. In my pieces I tend to show fibers pushing themselves through, in what seems to be an effort to be seen.

Currently I am working on a series about nostalgia, specifically about the memories that I carry with me of something that no longer exists. The year 2020 brought for me a new meaning to living away from home - I realized that I can let go and I can grow, while still carrying with me a “perfect” memory.

The objective of my work is to highlight the struggle of facing change, as well as understanding the value of it.
