Daire Irwin

Daire Irwin is an Irish artist. Working mainly in paint thus far, themes of identity and the figure dominate his early work. However he has recently began exploring topics of conflict/unity and an increasing interest in technology.

Daire is the youngest artist to ever appear at the "Art Ireland" art fair at the age of 18, Irelands International Art Fair.

Irwin grew up in the Republic of Ireland near to the border of N.Ireland, and Identity played a major role in his early figurative work. Recent work has shown him exploring the conflict he remembers as a boy - memories of terrible tragedies exist alongside nostalgic romanticism. His work, although at times looking to the past is an attempt to understand the present. An investigation into how a conflict shapes a people.
