Dana Caldera

Dana Caldera is a Houston, TX based artist and art professor. Dana's current artwork is made from layering found collage material into bold abstract compositions. The paper ephemera--evidence of a life lived--adds a distinctly human quality to her mixed media paintings. Dana's collages and paintings focus on combining surprising color combinations, visual and actual textures, and hand-drawn mark-making. The artwork draws you close, and upon inspection, you find moments of recognition and clarity in the larger composition.
