Dana Milik

Life is a voyage, during which we meet unique human beings.

Our paths cross perhaps at the corner of a street, during ta trip or in a café...
People fascinate me by their nature, their past, their behavior.
I observe their singular beauty, their joy, their pain, their happiness, their cruelty and their lack of concern.

Through these observations, I try to leave an impression; that of their existence and my own stroke of paint...

Whatever I create, on these white canvases, it comes from deep within my soul.

It sometimes frightens by its absolute rawness, its exhibitionism, its anger. A rage of expression, a passion for life. Else, it soothes the mind by the fluid and spontaneous lines, smiles and joyful expressions.

One thing is sure: we all live together, we all need the other. And this statement makes me reproduce my eternal inspiration: us, human beings.

Dana Milik was born in Poland, has become British as she married an Englishman and now lives in France.

From a very early childhood, Dana was interested in all forms of Art.
She practiced drawing, sculpture and took lessons in classical painting from the age of 10 in Warsaw, Poland.

Dana's family attached great importance to music, visual arts, literature, theatre, opera and dance. This multi-disciplinary influence led her to ballet classes, and eight years of piano studies and countless competitions such as the renowned Chopin Piano Competition.

After having finished the Warsaw School of Music, Dana studied medicine and nursery. During the last year of her studies she met the love of her life, Marek Milik, a Londoner who had come to Poland to study at the Academy of the Arts in the capital city.

Both lovers moved to France where Dana Milik started studying French and began History of Art classes at the world famous Ecole du Louvre.
She married her beloved Englishman shortly afterwards and spent a life of endless travels and car rallies around the globe while continuing to paint and help others around her.
