Daniel Ginsberg

Originally from the East New York section of Brooklyn, Dan began his artistic journey at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.
Shortly after graduation the US Army called. He served as a Military Policeman and then as a Criminal Photographer and Photo-Journalist for the U.S. and Japanese Governments on Okinawa from 1968-1970.
Returning to New York in the spring of 1970, with an offer from the NYC Police Department to continue his work as a criminal photographer, fate stepped in and decided he should follow a slightly different path.
Dan became a freelance assistant to several well-known fashion photographers, establishing his own studio producing photographs for the fashion industry.
Leaving New York, in the late seventies, Dan pursued an academic education at Louisiana State University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Reproductive Physiology working on artificial insemination protocols.
Although science is never far from his thoughts, his passion for photography, painting and writing were too strong for him to ignore. And, as the eighties segued into the nineties, Dan found his focus again shifting into his creative outlets.
