Daniel Schmid (b. 1989, Denver, CO) lives and works in Chicago IL and earned his Bachelors of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2014, his recent work has been on display in both solo and group exhibitions including "Burn It Down" at Heaven Gallery, "Where There’s Smoke…" at Peanut Gallery, "The Whitney Huston Biennial" at Julius Caesar, and "Objects" at Roman Susan. In addition to his studio practice he has an interest in curating and most recently organized the group exhibition "Scape" at the Nicole Villeneuve Gallery.
He is the recipient of the 2010 Nippon Steel U.S.A. Inc/SAIC Presidential Award, and was a finalist for the 2010 Union League of Chicago's Civic and Arts Foundation Visual Arts Competition.
