Ortaire Quentin De Coupigny

My art studio is situated a few hundred meters from the sea coast in the city of Port-Louis, Brittany. I am registered at the French national institution for professional painters and sculptors: "La Maison des artistes".

All my artworks are inspired by animals and nature and based on my personal mixed-media technic developed through years of practice.

On Saatchi Art I present two main collections.

The first one is titled "Tins of Sardins" and is in between painting and sculpture. Made of wax and painted with pigments, sculpted fishes in the cans are covered with a transparent epoxy that reminds the sea. These artworks evoke at the same time Pop art, Dada and the surrealism.

The second collection is titled "Dreamed landscape" and is in between engraving and painting. Engraved in transparent epoxy and painted with little touch of colors, animals, plants or rocks appear in a mysterious light.

All my artwork are already framed and ready to hang.

All are signed and delivered with a Certificate of authenticity.

My first solo show was in 2004 at the gallery of the "National Theater of Vire" in Normandy. In 2011 I did a solo exhibition in the Pension Gloanec in Pont-Aven where Gauguin used to stay. One of my artwork was exhibited at the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy of Art of London in 2009.
