I am inspired by the dynamic chaos of open-air marketplaces. Drawn by street observation, I aim to capture fleeting and intimate moments of vividly colourful movement within these eclectically diverse cultural landscapes.

The main body of my work represents the culmination of diverse and varied visual study of the markets of London and finds it’s focus in conceptual representations of Brixton’s Electric Lane street market, but could be interpreted as any inner city street market in one of a number of Britain’s larger cities.

Forever a focal node of different peoples, the market-place represents a diversity of culture, class and social cachet that is unique and unmatched in its scope and diversity. Street markets rumble to life unburdened by academic analysis, re-appropriating spaces of traffic, lines and structure with a chaotic interaction of colours and cultures. A space, event and happening constructed by the people, for the people – constantly shifting, varied, multi-faceted and ever-changing.

As a passionate artist, I draw and paint in the street, seeking to capture a moment of vivid movement in the flux of ever developing possibilities – seeing the market as a living, breathing, movin...

I've attended various art colleges to complete courses in artistic experimentation and expression including The Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne and the Royal Drawing School in London. Most recently, I have completed the intensive Atelier Drawing, Painting and Printmaking year-long course at Draw in Brighton, UK under the tutelage of Jake Spicer and Shelley Morrow - where I am now a tutor and alumni student.
