Diyana Yovcheva (born 1984 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria) is an artist who works mainly in the field of nature. Exploring the concept of landscape and natural form, Diyana depicts moments that exist only to clarify our existence and find poetic meaning in our everyday lives.
Her works establish a kind of dialogue between author, nature and viewer. Not only does she analyze the dynamics of the landscape by applying abstraction, but at the same time she manipulates the effects and boundaries of nature, thus provoking her audience's assumptions about what the landscape means to each of us. Or to put it another way, rather than representing a factual reality, she chooses to create an illusion to challenge the realms of our imagination.
Her artworks do not always refer to a recognizable form. Very often the results are deconstructed to the point where meaning shifts and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted. By emphasizing aesthetics, she creates works in which one can detect a fascination with an uncompromising attitude towards conceptual and minimal art.
