His call is the materiality experimentation. He is intrigued to submit different materials to transformation processes. Through this, he aims to discover new plastic potentials in order to collaborate with the materials and obtain tridimensional complexities. Some of his investigation lines till now have been crystal growth, wood shredding and metal melting, among other topics.
Diego López Ibarra is a Mexican architect by the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes and a plastic artist and material researcher by choice. He holds a master’s degree in advanced architecture by the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IaaC) in Barcelona, has attended the SmartGeometry2012 courses at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in New York, and has taken several workshops of silver jewlery, hyper organic design, carpentry and electronic prototyping, among other topics.
