Dorina Nicoleta Crisu

My name is Dorina Crisu and my artwork captures symptomatically the way in which the world, the human being and the body are distorted by the contemporary social environments. The focus is only on certain fragments and not on the whole individual which is broken into pieces, divided between mind, imagination, sensation and increasingly sophisticated and difficult to understand concepts about its own purpose and existence.
Usually I paint on Canvas using high-quality acrylic paints, then I mount the painting on a wooden stretcher so it can be hung on the wall as is. I always coat my paintings with a Gesso primer for texture and a final varnish so that the quality is not affected. There may be color deviation from the camera flash, in reality it looks better.
