Don Kalervo

I started my Artist career as a high end fashion designer together with Niina Karlsson 2000-2010.
We were the second designers ever to present our work in the Official Calendar of Haute Couture in Paris from Scandinavia. I am still working on fashion design projects for performing artists.
I took a camera into my hands in 2010 and from then on I have studied photography.
I am the other artistic director for the costume jewellery brand ManiaJewels. In charge of all the photography.
Around the year 2018 I started to study vintage lenses as
I found out that Im a painter.
In all my works there is a dreamy "impressionist" mood.
In my portraits the movement and light is the key. The City of Paris and the light of the north are endless source of inspiration to me.

I am a self taught artist. Both in fashion and art.
Many great artists before me have had impact in my work. "Only to feel" said Matisse. Try to keep myself open to everything around me. Cézanne, Rothko, Matisse, Monet, so many great artists have influenced me on way towards understanding.

2022 Spring In Paris at 15martel.com art gallery i had my first ever photographic art exhibition. Sold 3 of my works.
