Doya Nolte

My name is Doya Nolte. Originally I am from Germany/Bremen, but have been living and working in Switzerland/Locarno for 25 years. The first contact with painting and art was in my childhood. This was my first experience as an autodidactical painter. After an apprenticeship as an architectural designer, my love for art and painting got a new impetus and I started to study art education, at the University of Bremen.
During this time I organized several exhibitions of my art in Bremen, Hamburg and London where I taught at the College for Further Education for one year. After finishing my studies, I worked as a graphic artist of landscape architecture
I moved to Italian Switzerland in 1993, where I work and exhibit as an artist with an own studio of art.
The background of my last work are illusions of wellknown sexual symbols or banal mundane situations, mixed with historical statues.
In recent years, it has evolved into a style with more abstract elements. The dynamics of these neo-expressionistic pictures transport time and its infinity.
This is the central subject of my last art. Created by abstract and figural contents.
