Duk Ki Kim

2008 Lives and Works in Seoul

The themes reiterated in Kim's paintings for last 10 years have been love between family members, religious blessings, and childhood memories of home.

The themes are mostly represented in jangji with ink and color, western-style canvas or three-dimensional ceramics. Although the themes of family members, their shelters, and his childhood reminiscences of native mountains and rivers have been repeated, quite strangely, Kim's paintings become more attractive with time, drawing the viewer's attention and evoking warmheartedness.

The family-loving heart, happiness brought by family members, memories of his home,and thanks to God for nabling these all, even if reiterated constantly, they grow deepened rather than being tedious.
